Support the Mountain Wheelchair Project
Where will your money go?
Thank you for helping to fund the Mountain Wheelchair project. We hope you agree this is a great project which many people can benefit from.
At the time of writing, most of the project has been self-funded (£4,180.42 to be exact), Mum has helped by holding raffles, and we've had a few donations through the website, all of which have been gratefully received. Now that I've started building the actual Mountain Wheelchair though, the project needs a considerably larger cash injection.
What we need:
- £1,000 for motors
- £1,000 for motor controllers
- £1,000 for LiFePo4 batteries
- £1,000 for materials to build the frame
- £1,000 for a TIG welder
- £1,000-£2,000 for a tube bender
- £1,000-£2,000 for a lathe
- £1,000-£2,000 for other tools and equipment
That's the major expenses covered but then we'll also need wheels, electronics, radio equipment, a trailer, the list goes on. As well as physical parts for the wheelchair, money will also need to be spent on services which I can't undertake myself, such as heat-treating the wheelchair frame once I've welded it together for example, or lacing the motor hubs to the wheel rims.
We've come a long way, we've still got a long way to go, and with your help we can make this Mountain Wheelchair a reality.
